One of the common myths associated with becoming a member of the LCDRT is that you need dive experience. While we do encourage those community members with SCUBA experience to come check us out, many of our members have joined with absolutely NO dive experience at all. In fact, many members choose to work shore side with our operations as that is where they feel most comfortable. Any emergency dive rescue professional will tell you that without a competent and highly skilled shore support, the operation is in trouble. The LCDRT has a need for dedicated and committed citizens that want to make a difference. Check out below for how to get started!

Periodicaly throughout the year we like to take the time to highlight one of our outstanding supporters. Without businesses like these, the LCDRT would not be able to do the job we do. Supporting the team, supporting their community, these companies deserve the spotlight!

High Plains Scuba has been a supporter of ours and the community for many years. Click here to learn more about them.
(coming soon)
  • First, ask yourself a few questions:
    • Do you have the time to commit to providing life saving emergency support services here in Larimer County?
    • Can you attend 1 team meeting each month? ( usually the 2nd Monday of each month from 7pm to 9pm )
    • Can you attend training each month? ( usually 1 weekend of each month )
    • Do you work well in a team?
  • If you answered yes to those questions then you should now download the application ( PDF download ) HERE!
    • Fill that out COMPLETELY.
    • There will be a background check done as well.
  • Once you have all that completed, you will want to email our Membership Coordinator. They will get you rolling from there. Send them an email here.
  • You may also get started by checking us out live. Just come join us at one of our Monthly team meetings, it happens on the second Monday of every month. We meet at the address listed under the contacts. Show up and start your volunteer career as a Dive Rescue Member right away.

If you have the desire and commitment, we will provide the training. Below is a sample list of what LCDRT members receive for training each month:

  • CPR/First Aid
  • PSD Certification
  • Dive Rescue 1 and 2 Certification
  • Swift Water 1 and 2 Certification
  • Light Salvage Recovery
  • Hazmat
  • Current Diving
  • Ice Rescue

And the list goes on............

The process is simple. Once your application is in and has been reviewed and your background checks out, you are off and running:

  • You will first be listed as a PROSPECTIVE member with the LCDRT.
    • You will need to complete your 3 and 3 process.
      • You will need to attend 3 team meetings and 3 team trainings. (COMPLETELY)
  • Once you have your 3 and 3 completed you will have a chance to be voted on the team.
  • If voted on the team you will then be considered a PROBATIONARY member for the next year.
  • After your 1 year as a PROBATIONARY member and required training has been completed, you will have the opportunity to be voted on as a full ACTIVE member.

If you have the desire and ability to commit yourself, then we look forward to speaking and working with you SOON! Your support is what has made the LCDRT one of the top dive rescue teams in the nation! See you at the next team meeting!
